People are being equipped everyday at our new base on the Thai-Burma border.
Our team of Burmese nationals spend everyday engaging lives in the Burmese slums. Their goal is to do everything they can to prevent the abuse, trafficking & exploitation of women & children. When prevention isn’t possible, they take action immediately.
“What the community team is doing drains your energy and you hear and see problems and issues, conflict, brokenness, dysfunctional family all the time.” – Daniel Nyan, Thailand Country Director
The Centre will be a place our team & others working in Child Protection can come to find encouragement, support and receive training that will help them be as effective as possible.
“Peace is really important for them. They can learn from each other, they can listen to each other and bring a sense of we are not alone and we have HOPE.” – Daniel
The Border Equipping Center will not only be our base for all of our current operations including all team meetings, case discussions, administration and finance offices. It will also serve as a training center for those working in Child Protection in Thailand and inside Myanmar. Long term, our hope is to equip community workers who can bring real change inside Myanmar as well.
