Greetings from Mae Sot and from everyone at Compasio!
I want to invite you to be apart of an unique opportunity – to partner with me and my colleagues at Compasio to help create a new life for an amazing little girl – Su Su.
You may already know her story well. At Compasio, we regard Su Su as our miracle baby – born with a rare, often fatal, skin condition called Harlequin Ichthyosis – she was abandoned at birth by her mother. Medical workers in Mae Sot were expecting her to die and so stopped feeding her. But against all the odds stacked against her, through much prayer and the intervention of Compasio’s own medical workers, Su Su survived.
Su Su has been in Compasio’s care since she was released from the hospital at five weeks old. Her house parents, Jack and Dara, have been caring for her at Compasio’s Infant Home since she was nine weeks old. Su Su is now a lively four-and-a-half year old, and doing well.
Jack and Dara love her so much and have recently decided they want her in their family permanently to raise as their own daughter.
We are so grateful God has put this on their hearts and we want to do everything we can to make this possible for them. Although, Jack & Dara will be moving closer to their families to start a new chapter with their two daughters, we will continue to stand with them through financial support until Su Su is 18 since her cost of care is higher than normal. Here are some extra expenses they’ll incur:
- Su Su’s skin cream – Aquifor – which requires all-over daily application
- Air-conditioning Bills for keeping SuSu’s skin cool
- Su Su’s higher school fees at air-conditioned campuses
Covering these costs over a long time is a big challenge for Compasio but we know it’s not a challenge for God.
We need people who will pray and can spare $50 per month to help us cover these costs. If that commitment is too much, any donation amount would help this family!
If this is on your heart, please help us bless this amazing couple for their desire to welcome in an abandoned child with disabilities and love her like their own.
Many thanks and God bless you!
